AVAIO Digital Partners with Cummins to Boost AI-Ready Data Center Infrastructure
STAMFORD, Conn., May 6, 2025 — AVAIO Digital has signed a major agreement with Cummins Inc. to supply generators that will provide backup power for its upcoming data centers. These centers are part of AVAIO's first four campuses across the United States, set to begin construction in 2025.
This deal is one of several partnerships AVAIO has secured for key equipment, including switchgear, PDUs, UPSs, chillers, and high voltage substation breakers. Altogether, AVAIO is investing over $200 million in equipment scheduled for delivery over the next 18 months. The goal is to have energized data centers ready for customers by 2026.
Meeting Demands of AI and Cloud Workloads
AVAIO’s new campuses will support high-density GPU workloads, operating at 300 kW per rack or more. This is crucial for handling intensive AI training and inference models that require continuous, reliable power and efficient cooling.
These partnerships aim to integrate advanced technologies that improve reliability and efficiency, ensuring data centers can run demanding AI and cloud services without interruption.
Leadership Perspectives
Mark McComiskey, CEO of AVAIO Digital, stated, “After four years of investment, we’re ready to start construction and deliver data center capacity in 2026. Our campuses will also feature onsite, behind-the-meter utility-scale solar generation, supporting the growing industry focus on clean energy for compute operations.”
Joe Hubbard, Senior Director of Global Design and Delivery at AVAIO Digital, added, “Our collaboration with Cummins addresses the critical need for large-scale cloud and AI facilities that operate continuously at full capacity. We’re committed to delivering these solutions quickly while maintaining sustainability standards.”
