Bahrain Implements AI System to Monitor Building Changes and Violations
The Survey and Land Registration Authority in Bahrain has partnered with global tech company Aitosky to launch the second phase of an AI-driven system aimed at detecting building violations and changes. This move marks a significant push towards integrating artificial intelligence in government operations for improved accuracy and efficiency.
Engineer Basim bin Yaqoub Al Hammar, Chairman of the Authority, highlighted that the AI system is a strategic step to enhance digital solutions and improve coordination among government agencies. The system is expected to streamline processes, speed up decision-making, and boost service quality for the community.
Key Features of the AI Monitoring System
- Utilizes satellite imagery exclusively for comprehensive monitoring of urban and natural changes across Bahrain.
- Improves operational efficiency and data accuracy.
- Supports multiple government agencies through enhanced spatial data integration.
- Localizes AI technology to build national capabilities within the Authority.
The first phase of this project, conducted alongside the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, resulted in over a 60% increase in monitoring efficiency. The current phase expands the system’s reach to more government bodies, improving overall performance and collaboration.
Public-Private Collaboration
Abhay Swaroop Mittal, CEO of Aitosky, expressed pride in collaborating with the Authority. He emphasized that this partnership focuses on transferring knowledge and developing national expertise to operate and enhance AI systems effectively. The platform provides precision monitoring reports that support evidence-based decision-making for government leaders.
This initiative reflects Bahrain’s commitment to improving government operations through stronger public-private partnerships. The system’s integration helps align agencies and better meet community needs.
