Bahrain’s Land Bureau Advances Digital Services with AI Technology

The Survey and Land Registration Bureau of Bahrain has taken a significant step forward in digital transformation by partnering with the international company Aetosky. This collaboration focuses on implementing the second phase of an AI-powered system that identifies changes and building violations through satellite imagery.

This initiative aligns with the Bureau's commitment to enhancing government performance through partnerships with the private sector and improving coordination among relevant agencies to meet national objectives.

Enhancing Efficiency and Service Quality

His Excellency Engineer Basim bin Yacob Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, highlighted that this system is a cornerstone project for expanding digital infrastructure and boosting inter-agency collaboration. By integrating AI technology, processes become more efficient, data accuracy improves, decision-making accelerates, and public services gain in quality.

The project supports the Government Program (2023–2026), particularly goals related to government performance and digital transformation.

Building Local Capabilities

The second phase focuses on transferring AI technology knowledge to the Bureau and developing local expertise to operate and enhance the system independently. This approach ensures sustainable services that meet community needs and strengthens the Bureau’s readiness for future digital advancements.

Satellite images will be used to monitor natural and urban developments across Bahrain, expanding on the success of the first phase. The initial implementation, done in coordination with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, increased monitoring efficiency by more than 60%.

This success has paved the way for extending the system's use to other government agencies, which is expected to improve overall government performance and spatial data management.
