Bearing Raises $4.5M To Bring Physical Security Operations Into ServiceNow's AI Platform
Bearing closed an oversubscribed $4.5 million seed round to accelerate product development and expand its team. The company is building physical security operations software natively on ServiceNow, using AI agents and workflow automation to streamline how enterprises run security across facilities, OT, and physical infrastructure.
The round was led by AZ-VC, with continued investment from High Alpha and participation from PHX Ventures and Lightbank. The focus: unify physical security with corporate security functions and plug those workflows directly into the enterprise system of record.
Why this matters for product development
- Physical security is still fragmented across access control, cameras, sensors, and point tools. That fragmentation stalls visibility, slows response, and complicates governance.
- Embedding physical security into ServiceNow means one workflow layer, one data backbone, and AI agents that act inside existing processes instead of adding another disconnected tool.
- For teams already on ServiceNow, this lowers integration friction and makes cross-domain orchestration (IT + OT + Facilities) more practical.
What Bearing is building
Bearing positions itself as the first solution to bring physical security operations into ServiceNow. It extends ServiceNow's Workflow Data Fabric into physical security while using AI-powered workflows and AI agents inside daily operations.
- Examples: auto-creating and routing incidents from camera outages, badging anomalies, or sensor alerts; AI-assisted triage; and end-to-end runbooks that coordinate Facilities, IT, and Security.
- Data is centralized in the system of record, improving auditability, handoffs, and executive reporting without another standalone console.
Implementation notes for PMs and engineering leads
- Define the data model: map physical assets to CMDB classes and standardize event/alert schemas early.
- Prioritize integrations: VMS, access control, badge systems, environmental sensors, SIEM, and OT device management.
- Start with high-frequency, high-impact workflows: incident intake and triage, device health and uptime, access anomalies, and compliance checks.
- Guardrails for AI agents: clear decision boundaries, human-in-the-loop for escalations, and audit logs for every automated action.
- Metrics: mean time to acknowledge/resolve, false positive rate, device uptime, and cross-team handoff time.
- Rollout: pilot with one site or region, document runbooks, then template and scale across facilities.
Funding and partners
The seed round was led by AZ-VC, with continued backing from High Alpha and participation from PHX Ventures and Lightbank. The capital supports team growth and building out product capabilities that automate end-to-end physical security workflows on ServiceNow.
What to watch next
- Depth of ServiceNow-native features: CMDB enrichment, Flow Designer packs, and out-of-the-box runbooks for common physical security cases.
- AI agent reliability: measurable improvements to time-to-triage and operator workload without increasing risk.
- Integration breadth: major access control, VMS, and sensor ecosystems, plus data quality tooling.
- Governance and compliance: permissions, data retention, and reporting that pass internal audit without side systems.
Key quotes
Jason Veiock, Founder and CEO, Bearing: "Physical security has historically operated outside the enterprise system of record, even as its importance has continued to rise. As enterprises converge physical and cybersecurity operations, and expand device and asset management beyond traditional IT into facilities, OT and physical infrastructure, that gap becomes more pronounced. Bearing closes the gap by embedding physical security operations directly into ServiceNow with a workflow-first, enterprise-grade solution."
Molly Fischer, Vice President of Global Build ISV Partners, ServiceNow: "Congratulations to Bearing on their impressive growth and the transformative solution they've built on ServiceNow. Their success demonstrates the power of our partner ecosystem to extend ServiceNow's reach into critical areas, such as physical security operations. By combining deep industry expertise with the ServiceNow AI Platform's AI and workflow capabilities, Bearing is helping enterprises gain the visibility and control they need in an increasingly complex security landscape. We're proud to support their innovation and look forward to our continued partnership."
Ashok Santhanam, Managing Director, AZ-VC: "Bearing represents exactly the type of company we set out to support. Architected with a deep understanding of the enterprise security landscape, Bearing is uniquely positioned to further extend ServiceNow into a critical, under-served operational domain. We're excited to help the team grow durable roots in Arizona as they continue to grow."
Mike Langellier, Partner, High Alpha: "Since our initial investment, the Bearing team has shown strong execution against a clearly defined vision. Their progress reinforced our conviction that physical security represents a meaningful and underpenetrated opportunity within the enterprise, and that Bearing's ServiceNow-native approach positions the company well to differentiate and scale."
