Bloomberg Acquires Regology to Boost AI-Powered Regulatory Compliance
Bloomberg Industry Group has acquired Regology, an AI-driven regulatory intelligence platform, to help legal and compliance teams track regulatory changes across more than 135 countries and identify emerging risks faster.
The acquisition combines Regology's monitoring capabilities with Bloomberg's existing legal, tax, and government affairs products. The integrated platform will let organizations connect regulatory developments directly to internal policies, risks, and controls.
What the Platform Does
Regology's core tool is its Smart Law Library, a curated collection of laws updated continuously for each organization. The platform monitors U.S. federal and state regulations alongside international requirements, then flags changes relevant to a company's specific operations.
The combined offering covers the full compliance cycle: identifying emerging requirements, assessing impact, and executing compliance actions. Bloomberg says this approach moves teams faster from awareness of regulatory changes to implementation.
Why This Matters for Legal Teams
Regulatory complexity has grown. Companies now face overlapping requirements across jurisdictions, making manual tracking impractical. AI-driven monitoring reduces the risk that critical changes slip through unnoticed.
For legal and compliance professionals, the acquisition signals that major information providers are embedding AI directly into core workflows. Rather than building custom solutions, teams can use integrated platforms designed for regulatory work.
Josh Eastright, CEO of Bloomberg Industry Group, said the acquisition responds to customer demand: "By bringing together Regology's global regulatory coverage and advanced AI with the data, news, and intelligence of Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg Tax, and Bloomberg Government, we're helping organizations move faster from awareness to action."
Mukund Goenka, Regology's CEO, added that joining Bloomberg allows the platform to pair AI capabilities with deeper legal expertise, helping organizations "anticipate change, understand its impact, and respond with confidence."
