Cargo Creative marks 16 years with AI and digital PR investment
Cargo Creative is celebrating 16 years in business with a clear signal to the market: more AI in the workflow and a fresh digital PR service built for visibility. The North Shields agency reports record growth over the last 12 months and a year of change across its team, tech, and services.
"The industry is evolving fast, and we've always chosen to adapt rather than resist change," said Paul Hart, Managing Director and Founder of Cargo. "AI is transforming every part of the creative sector, and by learning to use it to our advantage, we're strengthening what we do best, which is deliver creative solutions that drive real results. Our new PR service allows us to bridge creativity, strategy and visibility to help clients cut through the noise and create impactful campaigns."
The team has moved into a new studio at Harbour House, with more space for collaboration and future development. Cargo has also hired seven people this year, including its first dedicated Client Partner.
"Running your own business is never easy, but our success comes down to creative excellence, technical skill, and genuine partnership with our clients. We've built a strong, talented team around those values, and that focus has brought us to where we are today," added Hart. "We're proud of what we've achieved over the past 16 years, but even more excited about what's ahead."
What this means for creatives
- Integrated is the move: creative + AI + digital PR gives ideas a clear path from concept to coverage.
- AI is a workflow partner: research, ideation, draft polish, measurement-faster cycles, tighter feedback.
- New skill stack: prompt craft, data-led story angles, media list intel, and performance reporting.
- Distribution is design: build assets the press can embed, share, and reference. Make coverage easy.
- Collaboration wins: the new studio setup signals more cross-discipline sprints and fewer silos.
Practical next steps for your team
- Run a quick audit of your production pipeline. Mark tasks AI can assist without hurting quality.
- Pilot digital PR on one campaign. Define a single goal (links, reach, or coverage) and measure hard.
- Document prompts and templates as you go. Turn wins into repeatable systems.
