Chicago Booth and MasterClass Launch AI-Era Business School Program
Chicago Booth and MasterClass have partnered to create MasterClass Executive, a 12-week certificate program designed for working professionals who need to understand artificial intelligence without stepping away from their careers. The inaugural cohort begins in early summer 2026.
The program combines instruction from Chicago Booth faculty with lessons from external experts including entrepreneur Mark Cuban, economist Paul Krugman, and former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi. It pairs technical AI training with skills like negotiation and leadership, and uses AI itself to personalize each participant's learning path.
What the Program Covers
Participants will work through live labs where instructors teach how to apply AI to financial decisions and growth strategy. The curriculum adapts in real time to each person's pace and role, allowing them to apply lessons immediately at work.
Sanjog Misra, Charles H. Kellstadt Distinguished Service Professor of Marketing and Applied AI, will teach the intersection of AI and decision-making. "There is a real need for thoughtful discussion about how AI is changing decision-making, organizations, and strategy," Misra said.
Steve Kaplan, Neubauer Family Distinguished Service Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance, will cover topics including how to become a CEO and how to evaluate private equity and venture capital investments.
Faculty Involved
Other Chicago Booth faculty teaching in the program include:
- Doug Diamond, 2022 Nobel laureate in Economic Sciences
- Eugene Fama, 2013 Nobel laureate in Economic Sciences
- Jean-Pierre Dubé, James M. Kilts Distinguished Service Professor of Marketing
- Nicholas Epley, John Templeton Keller Distinguished Service Professor of Behavioral Science
- Ayelet Fishbach, Eric J. Gleacher Distinguished Service Professor of Behavioral Science and Marketing
- Alex Imas, Roger L. and Rachel M. Goetz Professor of Behavioral Science, Economics, and Applied AI
- Anil Kashyap, Stevens Distinguished Service Professor of Economics and Finance
Madhav Rajan, dean of Chicago Booth, serves as faculty director and said the program translates the school's research into "high-impact learning experiences for those who will influence business and society."
Program Structure and Access
The program is primarily virtual with optional in-person experiences. Admission is competitive and spots are limited. Participants gain access to virtual and in-person events where they can network with industry leaders.
Starr Marcello, deputy dean for MBA and masters programs, said the partnership "extends the reach of Booth's world-class faculty to ambitious leaders at every stage of their career-people who are driven to grow but need the flexibility to do so on their own terms."
