Eighty percent of respondents increased wireless spending over the past five years. Eighty-two percent expect to continue raising budgets over the next four to five years. The shift reflects pressure from AI workloads, IoT devices, and high-bandwidth applications like 4K streaming and AR/VR.

Among organizations that modernized their networks, the payoff is clear: 78% report operational efficiency gains, 75% see employee productivity improvements, 75% observe better customer engagement, and 68% experience positive revenue impacts.

The Trade-Off: AI as Opportunity and Risk

The same AI driving wireless ROI also introduces operational and security complications. The report calls this the "wireless AI paradox."

Ninety-eight percent of organizations report rising wireless complexity. More than half have suffered financial losses from wireless security incidents, with half of those losses exceeding $1 million annually. AI-generated security incidents are a leading cause.

Yet organizations that address this paradox head-on are four times more likely to achieve strong returns. The strategy involves three elements:

Automation Reduces Daily Workload

Nearly all surveyed organizations prefer a wireless network powered by AI Agents & Automation. Among those already using AI-driven operations, 98% report substantial gains, saving an average of 3 hours and 20 minutes per person per day.

This matters because wireless teams are stretched thin. The reactive cycle of manual network management diverts resources from strategic work and undermines AI initiatives.

Security and Talent Shape Competitive Position

Over a third of organizations experiencing wireless security incidents point to compromised IoT or operational technology devices as culprits. Addressing these vulnerabilities requires both technical controls and skilled personnel.

Nearly nine in ten wireless leaders struggle to hire qualified professionals. The talent gap is costly: organizations with more significant hiring difficulties face annual security incident costs 70% higher than those with no recruitment challenges.
