Consat expands digital offering with a GenAI framework for industrial applications
Consat is rolling out a GenAI framework built for industrial use cases, helping teams make sense of data and act on it in seconds. Work that once took weeks-finding the right content across massive document sets or assembling dashboards-can now happen almost instantly, says Vinay Dhar, Head of Digital at Consat Engineering.
This builds on last year's launch of Consat NEXT, the company's industrial-grade platform for IoT and data-driven innovation. With long experience across manufacturing, transportation, and telematics, the new framework turns messy, mixed-format data into practical outcomes for real operations.
Built on industrial foundations
The framework combines retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with agent-based workflows to automate repetitive work and surface insights from both structured and unstructured sources. It doesn't require a greenfield rebuild-first implementations are already live in production settings.
It can run on-prem or in the cloud, is modular by design, and isn't tied to a single large language model. Data remains with the customer, supporting strong privacy and security practices from day one.
What product teams can do today
- AssistAI for Support: Ask natural-language questions across internal knowledge sources (user guides, emails, slide decks, JIRA tickets, and more) and get accurate answers with citations to the exact section. Outcome: higher case throughput, shorter time-to-resolution, and fewer escalations.
- Dynamic Dashboard: An agentic RAG setup that converts plain-language questions into SQL and returns real-time visualizations. Teams self-serve analytics, get instant insights, and cut reliance on specialist support.
- AI-Augmented Agile Application Development: Blend agile with AI assistance to move from problem → concept → product faster. Deliverables in days: concept designs, validated use cases, and a clear build roadmap. AI assists coding, testing, and documentation to shorten sprints while keeping quality intact.
Why this matters for product development
- Ship faster: auto-generate prototypes, queries, and reports to compress cycle time.
- Reduce risk: model-agnostic, modular, and deployable on-prem or in your cloud-your data, your controls.
- Operationalize insights: agents can trigger actions in existing systems (alerts, workflows, and more).
- Fit your stack: integrates with existing data platforms and Consat NEXT-no heavy rewrites.
Governance and control
- Flexible hosting: on-prem or cloud.
- Model choice: work with multiple LLMs.
- Security: customer retains data; RBAC and audit trails supported.
- Transparency: open components with clear evaluation methods and traceability.
Leaders' perspective
"We already support many customers with digitalisation projects," says Dhar. "Working with complex data sets and making sense of them is something we've done for years. GenAI lets us extend that, so teams get answers and actions, fast."
"We're not starting from scratch," Dhar adds. "We already collect and manage industrial data. GenAI lets us model it, extract insights, and trigger actions automatically."
"We don't just talk about AI-we embed it into real industrial and mobility systems," says Orvar Hurtig, CEO of Consat Engineering. "From AI-driven production monitoring with Consat Quidance Vision (CQV), to intelligent fleet and charging platforms, to IoT-enabled factories built on our NEXT platform, we help enterprises turn AI investments into tangible business outcomes."
How to pilot in 30 days
- Week 1: Pick one high-value use case (support, dashboarding, or rapid prototyping). Connect the minimal data needed.
- Week 2: Configure agents, guardrails, and access. Define success metrics (e.g., TTR, time-to-insight, adoption).
- Week 3: Run a controlled pilot with a small user group. Capture feedback and failure modes.
- Week 4: Close gaps, document playbooks, and plan rollout with integration hooks and support.
