Coty taps Pencil to automate content creation across beauty brands
Coty has partnered with generative AI platform Pencil to build an automated content creation system for its Consumer Beauty division, effective July 1.
The partnership will integrate Pencil's platform across four major brands: CoverGirl, Rimmel, Sally Hansen, and Max Factor. The system handles the full content workflow-from initial concepts and copywriting through image and video production-allowing marketing teams to create and optimize campaigns faster.
Jellyfish will lead the transformation and creative work. Pencil will embed a dedicated team at Coty to integrate the platform into global campaign workflows.
Why this matters for marketers
Beauty brands face pressure to produce content at scale while managing budgets. Coty's move reflects a broader shift toward AI for marketing operations in consumer goods, where efficiency gains directly affect campaign velocity and cost.
The partnership targets a specific pain point: the time and resources required to move from creative concept to finished assets. By automating the middle stages, marketing teams can focus on strategy and brand decisions rather than production logistics.
For marketing professionals, this signals where the industry is heading. Companies are moving beyond testing AI tools to embedding them into core workflows with dedicated support teams-a shift from experimentation to operational integration.
