Denmark to Permit AI Use in High School English Oral Exams Starting 2026

From 2026, some Danish high school students will be allowed to use artificial intelligence tools to prepare for their English oral exams. The Ministry of Education announced this move as part of an experimental approach to integrate digital tools into learning while maintaining educational standards.

During the oral exam, students receive their topic and have one hour to prepare. In this preparation phase, they can use any available resources, including generative AI. However, the oral presentation itself must be delivered live in front of an examiner.
