Detroit Engineered Products launches AI platform to speed product development

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) launched DEP AIWorks on April 9, 2026, an engineering platform that combines machine learning with physics-based simulation to reduce product development cycles. The platform targets automotive, aerospace, energy, manufacturing, and telecom sectors.

DEP AIWorks integrates predictive AI, generative capabilities, and simulation-driven intelligence into its existing MeshWorks environment. The platform uses neural networks and physics-informed models alongside traditional CAE solvers, allowing engineers to apply it across different datasets, engineering domains, and development stages-from early design through validation and manufacturing.

The platform offers modular capabilities including adaptive model training, rapid prediction, automated parameterization, optimization, generative design, and centralized data management. DEP says engineers can build and deploy models within weeks and reduce simulation turnaround from hours to minutes.

How it works with existing tools

DEP positioned AIWorks as physics-agnostic and tool-agnostic, meaning organizations can apply it across varied workflows without replacing existing software. The platform operates alongside MeshWorks rather than replacing it.

"DEP AIWorks reflects the next step in how engineering organizations will adopt AI, not as a standalone tool, but as an integrated part of the product development lifecycle," said Radha Krishnan, President and Founder of DEP. "By combining decades of simulation expertise with advances in AI, we are enabling teams to move faster while maintaining engineering rigor and reliability."

Launch and market reach

The launch followed the DEP MeshWorks X AIWorks Conclave 2026, a five-city event series held across Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai. The events brought together engineering leaders, original equipment manufacturers, and technology partners.
