Detroit Engineered Products launches AI platform for product development workflows
Detroit Engineered Products has released DEP AIWorks, an AI platform that integrates machine learning and simulation tools into engineering workflows across design, validation and manufacturing.
The platform combines neural networks and physics-based models with computer-aided engineering solvers. Engineers can develop and deploy models within weeks and reduce simulation time from hours to minutes, the company said.
What the platform does
DEP AIWorks builds on the company's existing MeshWorks system. It includes model training, prediction, parameterisation, optimisation and data management features within a single environment.
The platform supports work across automotive, aerospace, energy, manufacturing and telecom sectors.
Why this matters for product development
Most engineering organisations treat AI as a separate tool. Radha Krishnan, President and Founder of DEP, said the platform represents "the next step in how engineering organisations will adopt AI, not as a standalone tool, but as an integrated part of the product development lifecycle."
The faster simulation times and shorter model development cycles directly reduce time-to-market for new products. Engineers can test design variations and validate performance without waiting hours for computational results.
Where to learn more
If you work in product development, understanding how AI integrates into your existing workflows is increasingly relevant. AI for Product Development courses cover how these tools fit into design, validation and manufacturing stages. AI Design Courses specifically address generative design and automated design optimisation.
DEP conducted launch events across Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai in early 2026.
