Generative AI has made content cheap, fast, and convincing. That's great for output-and brutal for trust. For PR and communications teams, the risk isn't that synthetic media exists. It's that it spreads without disclosure.

The fix is simple in concept and hard in coordination: make disclosure a global norm. A multilateral Synthetic Media Disclosure Agreement would require clear labels on AI-generated or AI-edited content, hold bad actors accountable, and give the industry a standard to build against.

The Security Risk-And Why It's Your Problem

Bottom Line

Synthetic media isn't the core threat. Undisclosed synthetic media is. A global disclosure agreement would reset trust without stifling creative or operational gains from AI.
