DTU and TimesPro launch six-month AI certificate for working professionals

Delhi Technological University and TimesPro have announced an Advanced Certificate Programme in Artificial Intelligence, a six-month course designed for professionals seeking practical skills in machine learning, deep learning and generative AI.

The programme, led by DTU's Centre for Technology-Enhanced Learning (CTEL), combines classroom instruction with hands-on projects and a three-day campus immersion. Participants build and deploy machine learning models, implement neural network architectures including CNNs, RNNs and LSTMs, and work with tools like Python, TensorFlow and PyTorch.

The curriculum covers applied problem-solving across healthcare, finance, marketing, engineering and analytics. Students also study advanced methods including GANs, VAEs and graph neural networks.

Market demand is driving enrolment

Global AI market value is projected to grow from $189 billion in 2023 to $4.8 trillion by 2033, according to UN Trade and Development data. McKinsey reports 88% of organisations now use AI in at least one business function, up from 78% a year earlier.

In India, the AI talent pool is expected to grow from roughly 600,000 to 1.25 million professionals by 2027, at a 15% annual growth rate, according to NASSCOM projections.

Programme structure emphasises real-world application

The course blends theory with ethics and responsible deployment. Prof. S. Indu, Dean of Digital Education at DTU, said the programme allows working professionals to pursue credentials without leaving their jobs.

"This programme blends strong fundamentals with applied projects, ethics and responsible deployment, so learners can design, train and scale AI systems that create measurable impact," Indu said.

Sridhar Nagarajachar, Business Head of Executive Education at TimesPro, said the course moves learners "from algorithms to production-grade solutions" through expert-led sessions, hands-on tutorials and a capstone project aligned to industry problems.

For education professionals looking to understand AI applications in learning environments, AI for Teachers Learning Path offers structured guidance. Those focused on Generative AI and LLM Courses will find detailed curricula covering the technologies featured in DTU's programme.
