Dutch HospitalityTech Startup Toppi Raises Nearly €1 Million to Expand AI Solutions

Amsterdam-based startup Toppi has closed its initial funding round, securing close to €1 million. The investment will accelerate product development, expand the team, and scale its AI-driven tools for hospitality businesses. The round was led by X Investments with participation from Ollie Dapper and William van Lith.

“What began with guidance from Ollie and William has grown into a partnership we’re proud of,” said Co-founder Will Everingham. “With fresh capital, an expanded leadership team, and new hires, we’re ready to take the next step.”

Helping Hospitality Businesses Convert Online Interest Into Guests

Toppi, founded in 2024 by Will Everingham and Lars van Tilburg, targets restaurants, cafés, bars, and hotels aiming to turn online impressions into actual guests. The company currently offers two main products:

  • Toppi Essential – An AI platform that manages online visibility. It’s simple, affordable, and focused on helping hospitality businesses grow.
  • Toppi Co-pilot – Combines AI solutions with on-demand services for greater impact.

Within 18 months, more than 200 hospitality businesses have used Toppi to increase visibility, fill empty seats, and grow sustainably. Users report significant improvements including a 206% rise in profile views, 172% increase in website clicks, and 89% more direction requests.

“We’re using Toppi for almost two years now. It helped us triple our visibility on Google and we rank on ChatGPT for our most important keywords,” shared Roos Oostdam, Owner of Roos Taste & Smile.

Adjusting to Shifts in Consumer Search Behavior

Toppi highlights a clear challenge for hospitality operators: consumer behavior is evolving quickly in the AI era. Search methods are changing how guests find places to eat and drink, creating a need for new technology to keep pace. Toppi’s AI-powered marketing and operational tools aim to help businesses adapt effectively.

Alongside the funding announcement, Emiel van Dongen joins as Co-founder and CTO. With over ten years of experience in Python, AI, and data infrastructure, he will lead product development as Toppi moves into its next phase.

“We tried several marketing strategies; they were expensive and without much success. With Toppi, we see long-term results. The team is very knowledgeable and transparent,” said Karoline Newby, Manager at The Chambers Hotel.

For product developers interested in AI-powered solutions and how they impact hospitality, keeping an eye on companies like Toppi offers valuable insight into practical applications of AI in customer acquisition and operational efficiency.
