Element451 Doubles Q1 Growth, Expands Leadership Team
Element451, an AI platform for higher education enrollment and student support, announced doubled year-over-year growth in the first quarter, along with a 50% increase in new customers. The company appointed Lisa Van Ever as Chief Customer Officer and Derek Knudsen as Chief Technology Officer to support continued expansion.
The growth reflects broader pressure on colleges and universities to improve student engagement while operating with smaller teams. Element451's platform automates work across admissions, enrollment, and student success using AI agents, reducing manual tasks that typically fall to already stretched staff.
The numbers
Since 2021, Element451 has grown revenue by 736% and expanded its customer base by 479%. The platform now handles over one million agent-driven enrollments, with more than 1,000 AI agents created to support workflows across the student lifecycle.
Usage patterns show the shift toward AI-driven communication. Agent-based conversations increased 11.7 times over the past 12 months. SMS conversion rates climbed from 8% to 15%, and email conversion rates rose from 6% to 9% compared to manual outreach.
New leadership
Van Ever previously served as Chief Customer Officer at Stellic and Coursedog, bringing 15 years of experience scaling customer operations in higher education. She will focus on accelerating implementation timelines and building customer success functions.
Knudsen joins from Revenue.io, where he led engineering and delivery. He previously held CTO roles at Proof.com and Alteryx, with deep experience in generative AI and enterprise platforms.
The problem they're solving
Most colleges rely on fragmented systems-separate CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, chatbots, and student success software-to manage enrollment and support. This creates complexity for admissions and enrollment teams that lack the staff to coordinate across systems.
Element451 consolidates CRM, engagement tools, and student data into a single platform where AI agents execute work directly. This reduces the number of systems staff must manage and the manual effort required to maintain consistent communication with students.
The company serves over 300 institutions, including Columbia University, Louisiana State University, Tulane University, and the University System of Georgia. Element451 will present its product roadmap at its annual user conference in Charlotte on June 15-17, 2026.
