Federato names Tim Mossing as chief customer officer

Federato, an AI-powered underwriting platform for insurers, appointed Tim Mossing as chief customer officer to lead customer delivery and implementation scaling.

Mossing will oversee the company's Forward Deployed and Customer Engineering teams as Federato expands its capabilities globally. His track record includes leading multibillion-dollar programs at xAI, OpenAI, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.

Will Ross, Federato's co-founder and CEO, said Mossing "brings deep experience" managing complex transformations at major enterprises. "He has never shied away from the most meaningful transformations at the world's largest enterprises when the stakes, complexity, and pressure are high," Ross said.

New VP hire signals customer focus

Mossing's first move was hiring Rocio Sarriegui Zulueta as VP of Worldwide Customer Engagement and Growth. Zulueta spent six years at InsureTech Connect as global content and international strategy director.

Zulueta said Federato's advantage lies in its architecture. "They're not bolting AI on to Old Core systems. They built an AI-native solution from the ground up that's driving meaningful ROI across the entire policy lifecycle," she said.

Mossing emphasized execution over rhetoric. "Driving real change takes disciplined execution, grounded in a clear understanding of how the industry works today," he said. "Rocio brings deep insurance expertise and insight."

Expansion follows $100 million funding round

The leadership moves follow Federato's $100 million Series D funding round, led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives. The company cited Nationwide, MISSION, and QBE as customers already using its platform.

Mossing framed the opportunity directly: "Federato serves a critical need for the insurance industry, and it was clear I could make a real difference. Prospects can see the results Federato is delivering for customers that the Old Core can't."
