Florida Insurance Summit Adds AI Sessions, Welcomes California Commissioner
The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will host its annual Insurance Summit on April 15-16 in Tallahassee, featuring sessions on artificial intelligence, financial reporting, and compliance alongside regulators from California, Missouri, and Louisiana.
Registration closes March 30. The two-day conference takes place at the Augustus B. Turnbull III Florida State Conference Center on Florida State University's campus.
Who's Speaking
Florida Insurance Commissioner Michael Yaworsky and his deputies will lead sessions. California Insurance Commissioner Richard Lara, Missouri Director Angela Nelson, and Louisiana Commissioner Tim Temple will also participate as panelists.
Other speakers include a consumer representative, OIR's general counsel, and the head of data analytics and insurance technology for Conning, an investment firm serving the insurance industry.
What's on the Agenda
One session addresses a persistent problem: insurers making mistakes on applications for certificates of authority, officer changes, and Florida expansion. An OIR official said these applications are exhaustive and frequently contain errors.
The summit covers financial reporting requirements, changes to data calls, and compliance with regulatory orders. Sessions on AI for Insurance will examine how executives are deploying the technology.
Duck Creek Conference Follows
Ten days later, Duck Creek Technologies hosts Formation '26, a three-day conference on insurance technology in Orlando from April 27-29 at the Signia by Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort.
The event focuses on agentic AI and how it can help insurers reshape decision-making and automation. Sessions cover zero-touch claims, data usage, and operational changes driven by technology.
Insurance executives planning to attend either event should review the full agendas before registration deadlines close.
