Flowstep Raises $2.6M to Launch AI-Native Design Platform for Product Teams
Tallinn-based startup Flowstep has secured $2.6 million in Seed funding, pushing its total funding to $4.5 million. Founded in 2023, Flowstep is officially launching its AI-native design platform globally, aimed at design teams looking to speed up product development without sacrificing quality or usability.
Addressing the Design Bottleneck in Product Development
While AI-generated code is becoming common—with estimates suggesting that 30 to 50 percent of new code is or will soon be AI-assisted—design remains a challenge. The creative and strategic thinking required for great user experiences is still difficult to replicate effectively with traditional AI tools.
Flowstep introduces “vibe design,” a fresh approach that puts design at the center of the process. This method helps teams move from idea to product up to ten times faster while maintaining creativity, usability, and quality. Unlike automation-focused AI tools that produce generic outputs from vague prompts, Flowstep mirrors how product teams naturally think and work. This reduces early-stage slowdowns and supports the creation of meaningful, distinctive products.
How Flowstep Supports Designers and Product Teams
Matt Clannachan, co-founder and CEO of Flowstep, says their platform lets teams design at the speed of thought. Instead of forcing designers to adapt to rigid tools, Flowstep adapts to the way teams already collaborate, accelerating ideation and iteration.
The platform is powered by a combination of large language models (LLMs), reinforcement learning, canvas technology, and proprietary computer vision. It generates detailed user flows, wireframes, and pixel-perfect designs from simple text prompts. Designers retain full editing control on an infinite canvas, allowing them to iterate with AI suggestions or adjust manually without needing to re-prompt.
Strong Backing and Clear Growth Plans
The funding round was led by Supernode Global, with Adesso Ventures, Angel Invest (Berlin), Dnipro VC, Iron Wolf Capital, and angel investor Anton Borzov (WhatsApp) also participating. Early supporters like Thomas Wolf (Hugging Face) and Elias Aalto (Wolt) remain engaged.
Mike Sackler of Supernode Global highlights Flowstep’s alignment with the future of creative and technical tools, emphasizing their role in the evolving product design landscape. Viktoras Jucikas, Partner at Iron Wolf Capital, notes the team’s product focus and deep understanding of designer needs in an AI-driven UI design space.
Next Steps for Flowstep
Currently, Flowstep employs eight people, including alumni from Bolt and Revolut as well as experienced founders. The new funding will support key engineering hires and expanded product development.
As Flowstep grows its customer base among product teams, design studios, and tech startups in the US and worldwide, it plans to introduce enterprise-grade features such as enhanced governance, security, and compliance.
