FM Expands in Bengaluru to Drive Insurance Innovation

FM, a global commercial property insurance provider, is strengthening its footprint in India with a new centre in Bengaluru. This move supports FM’s plan to boost its operational strength across Asia by building advanced science and AI capabilities for risk management and client service enhancement.

New Bengaluru Facility to Enhance Regional Operations and Talent

The Bengaluru centre will act as a collaboration hub for FM’s international teams. Leveraging the city's strong technology ecosystem and skilled workforce, FM plans to speed up the development of science-based solutions and AI-powered tools tailored for its clients. The facility will also feature a client experience centre for training and showcasing FM’s research and risk assessment methods.

Supporting India’s Economic Growth and Insurance Sector

FM’s expansion in Bengaluru reflects India’s growth as a manufacturing and innovation hub. Alongside this, FM will open a sales office in Mumbai to engage more directly with clients in the country’s financial capital. Having operated in India since 2003, these steps deepen FM’s local expertise while drawing on its global resources.

Srini Krishnamurthy joins FM India as senior vice president to lead this expansion from Bengaluru. He will focus on site management, team leadership, and implementing FM’s multi-year strategy for India. The company also plans to grow its Indian workforce to support these expanding operations.

Krishnamurthy highlights India’s emergence as a key centre for insurance innovation and talent. He states, “India is becoming a global hub for innovation, AI, and infrastructure. The Bengaluru centre marks a critical step in FM’s mission to create science-based solutions that help clients manage risk effectively.”

AI Integration is Changing Insurance Processes Across Asia

FM’s growth in India aligns with a wider adoption of AI and automation in Asia’s insurance sector. AI is increasingly used to streamline workflows and improve customer experience. For example, India-based digital insurance marketplace Policybazaar reports that AI now handles nearly half of its operations, leading to faster service and better fraud detection.
