Gather AI Raises $40M to Scale Physical AI for Global Logistics
Feb 9, 2026 - Pittsburgh
Gather AI secured $40 million in Series B funding led by Smith Point Capital Management, with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Tribeca Venture Partners, Bling Capital, Dundee Venture Capital, XRC Ventures, and The Hillman Company. The company has now raised $74 million to date.
The round follows a year where Gather AI doubled its operational footprint and grew bookings 250%. Its Physical AI platform has become a standard across major logistics and manufacturing operators, including GEODIS, NFI Industries, Kwik Trip, Axon, dnata, Barrett Distribution, and Langham Logistics.
Why this matters for operations leaders
Most logistics teams run on digital plans that don't match what's actually sitting in racks. That gap creates misses: delayed shipments, bloated inventory, labor waste, and margin drag.
Gather AI attacks the root cause by producing continuous, verifiable, physical data from the floor-so you can make decisions with confidence, not after-the-fact reports.
- 99.9% inventory accuracy
- Up to 80% reduction in manual counting effort
- 5x productivity gains in cycle counting
- ROI in under six months (typical)
How Physical AI works
Unlike traditional AI trained on public internet data, Physical AI learns from the real environment. Gather AI's models are trained on millions of proprietary warehouse images so robots and MHE-mounted cameras can see, count, and verify both static and moving inventory in complex aisles where standard sensors struggle.
The platform runs on consumer-grade drones and material handling equipment, requires no infrastructure changes, and syncs ground truth directly with your WMS and ERP. In short: accurate physical data in, cleaner execution out.
What leaders are saying
"Gather AI is redefining how the physical world gets measured, understood, and operated," said Keith Block, Founder and CEO of Smith Point Capital Management and former Salesforce co-CEO. "We believe Gather AI will become the system of record for every warehouse, factory, and yard."
"This funding allows us to expand from real-time visibility to full autonomous orchestration," said Sankalp Arora, CEO and Co-Founder of Gather AI. "Our customers aren't just finding problems faster. They're preventing them entirely."
What's next
The new capital will fuel expansion to hundreds of additional facilities worldwide and advance predictive capabilities for proactive inventory management. The company is also growing engineering and customer success to support enterprise-wide rollouts across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Gather AI has been recognized by CB Insights and earned the Inc. Power Partner Award. The team will showcase the platform at industry events including Manifest and MODEX throughout 2026.
Practical takeaways for managers
- Quantify the baseline: measure current cycle-count hours, accuracy, and write-offs by site.
- Start focused: pilot in 1-2 high-throughput facilities with frequent count variances or chargebacks.
- Align KPIs upfront: accuracy, cycle time, labor hours shifted from counting to value-add work, and working capital impact.
- Integrate early: plan WMS/ERP sync and exception workflows before go-live.
- Operationalize change: train supervisors, set daily exception review rituals, and publish a weekly "variance to zero" scoreboard.
Customer footprint and impact
Enterprises such as GEODIS, NFI Industries, Kwik Trip, Axon, dnata, Barrett Distribution, and Langham Logistics use Gather AI as a foundational ops layer. The outcome: fewer blind spots, faster response to bottlenecks, and less firefighting on the floor.
