GMXT Taps CloudMoyo for AI-Driven Crew Management to Boost Efficiency and Safety

GMXT modernizes rail crew operations with CloudMoyo's AI suite

Grupo Mexico Transportes (GMXT), Mexico's largest railway network, is partnering with CloudMoyo to upgrade crew operations across its 10,000 km network and U.S. presence in Texas and Florida. The rollout includes CloudMoyo Crew Management (CCM), Crew Analytics, Crew Projection, and CrewWise, a generative AI assistant built to help teams move faster with fewer errors.

This move emphasizes scalability, safety, and measurable efficiency across planning, dispatch, compliance, and execution.

What operations leaders should know

  • End-to-end crew lifecycle: plan, assign, call, rest, and reconcile-while tracking qualifications and compliance with FRA regulations.
  • Real-time visibility: see availability, conflicts, and risk in one place with alerts for overtime, rest violations, and certification gaps.
  • Forecasting and scenarios: anticipate demand spikes, disruptions, and cross-border constraints with predictive crew projections.
  • Generative assistant: query schedules, resolve exceptions, surface SOPs, and speed dispatcher decisions with human-in-the-loop controls.

Expected impact on key metrics

  • On-time departures and terminal dwell
  • Crew utilization and overtime cost
  • Deadhead miles and call-to-on-duty time
  • Compliance incidents and fatigue risk
  • Customer service level and asset turns

"As Mexico's largest railway network, GMXT is committed to delivering best-in-class rail services for our customers across industries," says Jorge Marquez Abreu, Chief Operating Officer, GMXT. "By adopting CloudMoyo's suite of crew management solutions, we're strengthening our focus on the adoption of the latest advancements in cloud and AI-enhancing our agility, scalability, and positioning ourselves at the forefront of practices that drive efficiency and safety."

CloudMoyo Crew Management (CCM) covers the full crew process-from deployment to tracking qualifications and maintaining compliance with the Federal Railroad Administration-while providing real-time visibility with advanced analytics.

"We're very excited to partner with GMXT in modernizing their rail operations with AI, especially given CloudMoyo's focus on employing generative AI and agentic AI to address enterprise challenges," says Manish Kedia, Co-Founder and CEO of CloudMoyo. "Being a part of Mexico's largest cargo operator's digital transformation journey is special, particularly as we lead the next phase of transformation with data, advanced analytics, and agentic AI."

Why this matters for cross-border and multi-state operations

GMXT connects eight ports and six border crossings, serving agricultural, automotive, intermodal, and industrial products and consumer goods with 800+ locomotives and 28,000 railcars. Standardized crew processes and unified data lower friction across jurisdictions, reduce manual reconciliation, and simplify audits.

For operations teams, the value is clear: fewer spreadsheets, cleaner interfaces for dispatch, transparent rules enforcement, and the ability to test "what-if" plans without touching live service.

The suite at a glance

  • CCM: Crew deployment, qualifications tracking, and compliance monitoring with operational analytics.
  • Crew Analytics: Dashboards for KPIs, SLA adherence, and exception trends to guide daily huddles and weekly reviews.
  • Crew Projection: Demand and availability forecasting with scenario planning for outages, surge volume, and weather events.
  • CrewWise: Generative AI assistant to speed investigations, summarize incidents, and draft recovery plans for dispatcher approval.

Implementation notes for ops leaders

  • Data readiness: clean rosters, rest records, local agreements, qualification histories, and hours-of-service logs.
  • Integrations: TMS, HRIS, payroll, yard/terminal systems, and locomotive tracking to avoid swivel-chair operations.
  • Governance: role-based access, audit trails, and model review to keep decisions explainable and compliant.
  • Change management: dispatcher and crew onboarding, SOP updates, and feedback loops to refine alerts and thresholds.
  • Safety: assistant suggestions stay advisory; dispatch retains final say with clear rule validation against policy and regulation.
