Hanwha Life Expands AI Track at Vietnam Informatics Olympiad
Hanwha Life sponsored the 7th Vietnam Informatics Olympiad from April 10 to 12 at Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology in Da Nang. The company has backed the competition for three consecutive years as part of its Future Plus initiative, which focuses on developing talent in finance and technology.
This year's competition introduced an expanded artificial intelligence track alongside existing IT and non-IT categories. The AI track, which debuted last year, now serves as a dedicated platform for identifying and nurturing AI talent among middle and high school students across Vietnam.
Beyond the Competition
Hanwha Life used the event to conduct campus tours and career exploration sessions. Participants attended counseling booths and gained hands-on job experience, helping them map career paths in technology and finance.
The company extends support beyond the competition itself. Last year's winners received invitations to Hanwha Life's Training Program for Vietnam's Outstanding FinTech Talents in South Korea, giving them exposure to global industry practices.
In August, Hanwha Life plans to host an exchange program for Vietnamese university students featuring academic conferences, hackathons, and fellowship opportunities. The program aims to build a network of emerging talent in digital technology.
Why This Matters for IT Professionals
Competitions like this one shape the pipeline of developers and engineers entering the market. For IT professionals, these events signal where hiring demand is heading and what skills employers prioritize.
The emphasis on AI track expansion reflects broader industry trends. Organizations are actively searching for developers who understand both software fundamentals and AI applications. If you're in development, deepening your AI capabilities gives you a competitive edge.
Consider exploring AI learning paths designed specifically for software developers or generative AI and LLM courses to align your skills with where the market is moving.
Lim Suk Hyun, Head of Corporate Planning Division at Hanwha Life, said the Olympiad "serves as a gateway for talented individuals to enter the IT ecosystem." The company plans to continue supporting participants as they pursue roles in Vietnam's financial and technology sectors.
