Harvey Raises $200M at $11B Valuation to Expand Legal AI Agents

Legal AI startup Harvey secured $200 million in funding, pushing its valuation to $11 billion and total capital raised to $1 billion. GIC and Sequoia co-led the round, joined by Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, Conviction Partners, Elad Gil, Evantic, and Kleiner Perkins.

The company will use the capital to build out its AI agent capabilities and expand embedded legal engineering teams that work inside client organizations to deploy and optimize the technology.

Who's Using Harvey

Harvey works with most of the 100 largest U.S. law firms, over 500 in-house legal teams, and 50 asset management firms across 60 countries. Recent customers include NBCUniversal, HSBC, DLA Piper International, and McCann Fitzgerald.

The embedded team model sets Harvey apart from typical software vendors. Rather than selling a product and walking away, the company places engineers directly within client organizations to customize and refine how the AI operates in their specific workflows.

What This Means for Legal Professionals

The funding signals sustained investor confidence in AI agents for legal work. For in-house counsel and law firm leaders, it suggests Harvey will continue developing more sophisticated AI capabilities for contract review, legal research, and other core functions.

The $11 billion valuation also reflects the broader market opportunity in legal AI. As firms evaluate which tools to adopt, understanding how vendors like Harvey approach implementation-through embedded teams rather than self-service-matters for your own deployment decisions.
