Health Tech World Awards 2026: Celebrating Healthcare AI Innovators
The Health Tech World Awards 2026 will recognise the health innovators and innovations improving outcomes across the globe. This year's programme celebrates leadership, practical innovation and real-world impact across life sciences, medtech, digital health and beyond.
AI Innovation Award: What wins
This award highlights AI that moves the needle in care delivery, diagnosis, treatment or research. Shortlisted entries will show clear clinical or operational impact, not just prototypes or promise.
- Measurable outcomes: accuracy, sensitivity/specificity, LOS, readmissions, access, cost, or time saved.
- Validation and safety: prospective or external validation, human factors testing, monitoring plans.
- Workflow fit: EHR/PACS integration, clinician oversight, alerting logic that reduces noise.
- Equity and access: bias testing, performance across subgroups, inclusive data strategies.
- Data governance: privacy, security, provenance, continuous performance monitoring.
- Transparency: explainability where appropriate, clear limits, fallback procedures.
- Regulatory pathway: SaMD classification, QMS, and compliance plans (see the FDA on AI/ML-enabled medical devices).
- Scale and economics: deployment footprint, interoperability, ROI for providers and payers.
Who should enter
Frontline clinicians building tools for their teams. Hospital and system AI programmes. Startups and scaleups. Research labs, public health teams, payers, medtech and pharma using AI from discovery through post-market surveillance.
As Aspect Health Media's commercial editor Gordon Stribling put it: "We're excited to shine a spotlight on those leading the way in healthcare AI. Whether you're a frontline clinician who built a tool to help your team, or an organisation deploying AI at scale, we want to hear your story."
Why it matters
Award recognition builds credibility with clinicians, boards, investors and regulators. It also helps share what works across the sector - on our site, social channels and newsletter - so good ideas spread faster. Entries are free.
Sponsor spotlight: Osborne Clarke
The AI Innovation Award is sponsored by Osborne Clarke, an international legal practice focused on helping clients, people and communities succeed in tomorrow's world. The firm understands the unique pressures across life sciences, health and social care - advising drug developers, healthcare providers and the organisations that finance and support them.
How to strengthen your submission
- Start with the problem: baseline metrics, affected population, and current standard of care.
- Describe your method: data sources, feature sets, model type, and performance targets.
- Show evidence: internal testing, external validation, prospective or real-world results.
- Address safety and bias: subgroup analysis, mitigation steps, clinician-in-the-loop design.
- Explain implementation: training, change management, alert thresholds, audit trails.
- Use standards: FHIR/DICOM integration, API strategy, interoperability with major EHRs.
- Cover governance: security posture, incident response, and post-deployment monitoring.
- Map regulation and ethics: intended use, risk class, and alignment with guidance such as the WHO's guidance on AI ethics in health.
- Quantify value: clinical outcomes, equity impacts, total cost of care, and user satisfaction.
