HSF Kramer Adopts Legora as an "Intelligent Legal Colleague"

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer is rolling out Legora across the firm as its general-purpose AI platform. Positioned as an "intelligent legal colleague," Legora supports drafting, document interaction, insight generation, data analysis, summarisation, and translation. The goal is simple: help lawyers produce higher-quality work, faster, with stronger consistency and control.

What lawyers will use it for

  • First-draft generation for contracts, emails, and court documents with firm-approved styles.
  • Quick reads of long documents with targeted summaries, clause extraction, and issue spotting.
  • Structured analysis of data-heavy matters, due diligence sets, or discovery outputs.
  • Context-aware Q&A over work product and matter files with audit trails.
  • On-demand translation that preserves legal nuance and defined terms.
  • Consistent templates and checklists that reduce rework and review cycles.

Client portal: more direct, more secure

As part of the phased rollout, HSF Kramer will adopt Legora's client portal to streamline collaboration. Clients gain secure file sharing, a data-enriched document experience, and AI-supported delivery inside one environment. That means fewer email loops, clearer version control, and faster turnaround on routine queries.

Built into a broader tech stack

Legora joins an established toolkit that includes Harvey, Relativity, Wexler.ai, and Cicero. Together, these platforms cover drafting, eDiscovery, research, and workflow-giving teams options to match the task, the jurisdiction, and the client's risk profile.

Leadership perspective

Justin D'Agostino, Global CEO, said the firms that win will blend sophisticated technology with highly trained lawyers. He emphasized continued investment in legal tech and upskilling, building on more than 15 years of innovation and last year's appointment of Ilona Logvinova as Chief AI Officer.

Chief AI Officer Ilona Logvinova noted that Legora is central to the firm's AI strategy, citing depth, user experience, and collaboration at scale. She described the move as a strategic partnership that strengthens the stack and advances how the firm delivers for clients-globally and consistently.

Legora's CEO and co-founder, Max Junestrand, said the collaboration shows how top firms can adopt AI in ways that enhance legal work while preserving quality and trust.

Digital Legal Delivery, firmwide

HSF Kramer's Digital Legal Delivery practice operates across all regions, bringing together lawyers, technologists, legal ops professionals, and project managers. The group helps clients modernize legal delivery and build new digital services to meet changing business needs.

Why this matters for legal teams

  • Improve matter velocity without compromising quality-use AI for first passes, then refine.
  • Standardize best practices-embed playbooks, checklists, and approval gates into workflows.
  • Increase transparency-retain audit logs, citations, and redlines for partner and client review.
  • Tighten data security-collaborate in controlled environments instead of email attachments.
  • Train for outcomes-pair tool rollouts with targeted upskilling and clear policies on AI use.
  • Measure impact-track turnaround times, accuracy benchmarks, and client satisfaction.
