Horse Powertrain Launches kAIros to Speed Product Development
Horse Powertrain announced kAIros, a company-wide artificial intelligence initiative designed to accelerate product development and manufacturing operations. The program, led by Horse Technologies and backed by NVIDIA, Google Cloud, and Deloitte, integrates cloud infrastructure with high-performance computing across engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise workflows.
The initiative targets specific operational gains: reducing time-to-market by nearly 50 percent, cutting low-value process work by 40 percent, and improving design cycle efficiency by 25 percent. These metrics directly address pain points product development teams face when moving designs from concept to production.
The AI Factory Model
At the center of kAIros is an AI Factory-a dedicated infrastructure combining NVIDIA RTX PRO servers, GPU-powered cloud resources, and software tools for model training and simulation. The setup enables teams to run digital twins, process real-time data, and conduct advanced analytics without leaving development workflows.
The system provides operational visibility across factories, logistics networks, and product development cycles. This visibility lets product teams see how design decisions affect manufacturing timelines and supply chain efficiency before physical prototypes are built.
Physical AI and Automation
kAIros includes deployment of AI Agents & Automation powered by Google's enterprise tools to coordinate processes across teams. The initiative also focuses on physical AI applications-systems that interact directly with on-ground operations including robotics, automated guided vehicles, and quality inspection systems.
This means product development decisions can be tested against real manufacturing constraints and equipment capabilities in real time, rather than discovering conflicts during production ramp-up.
Building Internal Expertise
Horse Powertrain established a Center of Excellence to develop and scale AI capabilities internally. The team will focus on building staff expertise and deploying use cases that improve predictive accuracy in product performance and operational efficiency.
For product development professionals, this structure suggests the company is investing in long-term AI capability rather than one-off projects. Teams will have access to trained staff and established workflows for applying AI to common product development challenges.
The initiative is part of Horse Powertrain's broader strategy to strengthen advanced manufacturing capabilities in Europe by embedding AI into core industrial processes. Learn more about AI for Product Development and how these tools are reshaping how teams work.
