HPE expands AI-native networking and folds in Juniper for autonomous operations

HPE is rolling out an integrated networking portfolio that blends HPE Aruba Networking and the newly acquired HPE Juniper Networking. Five months after the acquisition closed, the company is pushing a unified AIOps experience with common hardware and software designed to run demanding AI workloads at scale.

The update centers on secure, autonomous operations across campus, data center, and edge. Key moves include new HPE OpsRamp Software capabilities, deeper tie-ins with HPE GreenLake Intelligence, and fresh switching and routing built for AI traffic patterns.

Unified operations and AIOps

Ops teams get a cleaner control surface: OpsRamp pulls telemetry across compute, storage, and networking into a single command center. New features include automated root-cause analysis, data center observability via Apstra integration, and support for the Model Context Protocol so AI agents can work across platforms.

HPE is also merging the best of Aruba and Juniper into one experience. Juniper's Large Experience Model becomes accessible in Aruba Central, while Aruba's Agentic Mesh lands for Mist users. Expect cross-platform organizational insights, new Wi-Fi 7 access points, and Aruba Networking Central On-Premises 3.0 with stronger automation, analytics, and a cleaner UI.

AI-grade switching and routing

For east-west AI traffic, the HPE Juniper Networking QFX5250 delivers 102.4 Tbps using Broadcom Tomahawk 6 silicon-built to speed up GPU-to-GPU paths in the data center. At the edge, the new MX301 multiservice router brings high-speed AI inferencing closer to where data is created.

Partner momentum: NVIDIA and AMD

HPE broadened collaborations with NVIDIA and AMD to tighten "AI factory" networking from the edge to large AI clusters. The portfolio also supports AMD's new Helios rack-scale AI architecture, which introduces scale-up Ethernet networking, alongside an HPE Juniper switch aimed at trillion-parameter training needs.

What Ops teams should do next

  • Map your current Aruba and Juniper footprint. Plan how licenses, policies, and templates move into the unified AIOps model.
  • Pilot OpsRamp's automated RCA and Apstra-driven observability. Define clear SLOs and tie alerts to your ticketing system before wider rollout.
  • Validate data center fabric capacity for AI: link counts, oversubscription targets, buffer behavior, and failure domains for GPU traffic.
  • Assess edge inference needs and site constraints. Shortlist locations for MX301 trials where latency and bandwidth matter most.
  • Coordinate security and compliance. Use cross-platform insights to keep segmentation, device trust, and audit trails consistent.
  • Line up budgets early. HPE Financial Services offers zero-percent financing on AIOps software and new leasing options for AI-native networking.
  • Upskill the team on AIOps and agentic workflows. A quick way to start: AI courses by job role.

Availability and timeline

  • MX301 router: December 2025
  • QFX5250 switch: early 2026
  • OpsRamp and GreenLake integrations: late 2025 through mid-2026

Bottom line for Ops

HPE is giving operations teams one playbook across Aruba and Juniper, backed by AIOps that can shorten triage and tighten control. Use the next two quarters to pilot the software, pressure-test fabrics for AI traffic, and lock in financing. The sooner you standardize tooling and processes, the smoother your runbooks will be when these releases land.
