IIT Kanpur Opens Nine Online Postgraduate Programmes in AI, Cyber Security, Data Analytics
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur will admit students to nine online postgraduate programmes starting September 2026, offering flexible degrees in artificial intelligence, cyber security, sustainability, and data analytics. Applications open shortly.
The programmes span MTech degrees, an MSc, and a postgraduate diploma, all designed for working professionals and recent graduates who cannot relocate. Students can complete MTech and MSc courses within two to four years, or finish the diploma in one to two years.
What's Being Offered
Seven MTech courses are available: Wireless Networks and Machine Learning, RF Engineering, Microelectronics and VLSI, Construction Engineering and Project Management, Sustainable Energy Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Smart Grid.
An MSc in Economics and Data Analytics and a postgraduate diploma in Cyber Security round out the offerings.
Admission Requirements
Candidates need a minimum of 55 percent marks or 5.5 CPI in their qualifying degree. Admission is based on national-level entrance exams such as GATE or JAM, department-specific requirements, or an online entrance test.
Applicants with five or more years of relevant professional experience, or those nominated by government or defence organisations, may skip the entrance test.
