Artificial intelligence is moving beyond simple prediction models to systems that can act independently. Agentic AI is changing how technology handles real-world tasks by making intelligent decisions and executing actions autonomously. According to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025, skills in decision-making, problem-solving, AI development, and data science are among the most sought after globally.

To address this growing demand, IITM Pravartak, the technology innovation hub of IIT Madras funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has teamed up with Emeritus to launch a Professional Certificate Programme in Agentic AI and Applications. This five-month course is geared towards AI professionals, product innovators, and domain experts looking to build intelligent, goal-driven AI agents using the latest tools and frameworks.

What the Programme Offers

Participants will learn how to use tools like LangChain, CrewAI, Flowise, OpenAI, and FAISS. These allow professionals to move beyond prompt-based AI and create autonomous systems capable of memory, planning, and reasoning. The curriculum supports product development, workflow automation, and digital innovation by teaching how to deploy AI agents in real-world situations.

This course is well suited for data scientists, machine learning engineers, developers, product managers, automation leads, consultants, and domain experts who want to integrate AI agents into their projects or operations. Whether your focus is low-code/no-code AI assistants or orchestrating complex agent workflows, the hands-on approach provides practical skills you can apply immediately.

Programme Structure and Support

The programme includes three IBM certifications in AI Agent Building, Generative AI for Business, and Responsible AI. Live masterclasses by IITM Pravartak faculty and an optional two-day campus immersion at IITM Research Park provide additional learning and peer interaction.
