Elahé Javadi, an associate professor of information systems at Illinois State University, has been selected for the Computing Research Association's inaugural AI Education Fellowship. She joins 26 other faculty members from across the country in the program.

Javadi will serve as a national ambassador for AI education through the fellowship's pilot classroom and the Pilot Classroom Expansion AI Education Research Coordination Network. She currently chairs the curriculum committee for the school's information technology department and co-chairs the AI Education track at the Americas Conference on Information Systems.

The fellowship, funded by the National Science Foundation, runs through February 2027 and includes a $4,000 stipend. Fellows will lead monthly seminars, participate in strategic working meetings, and help campuses adopt AI education resources.

Sheriff Rashadh, director of the school of information technology at ISU, said Javadi brings a decade of experience in curriculum development. "Dr. Javadi maintains a consistent record of collaborating with student organizations, schools in Central Illinois, and community partners - such as libraries and museums - to expand access to AI education," he said.

The cohort represents 28 states across public and private universities, community colleges, and other higher education settings. Together, they will help expand access to high-quality AI education resources and foster a national community focused on effective AI teaching.
