Casebook on AI Health Use Cases: Global Call for Abstracts (IndiaAI x WHO)

The IndiaAI Mission (MeitY, Government of India), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), has opened a global call for abstracts for the Casebook on AI Health Use Cases Across the Global South. If you lead, deploy, or evaluate AI in clinical or public health settings, this is your chance to showcase practical results that others can replicate.

The Casebook will highlight proven, ethical, and scalable AI applications that improve care delivery, health outcomes, and system efficiency. It is built to serve policymakers, innovators, and researchers as a reference for responsible AI adoption in low- and middle-income contexts.

Who should submit

  • Hospitals, health systems, public health programs, and digital health teams with live AI deployments.
  • Research groups and startups demonstrating measurable impact in the Global South.
  • Government bodies and NGOs using AI for disease surveillance, triage, diagnostics, supply chains, or workforce augmentation.

What to include in your abstract (max 250 words)

  • Problem statement, setting, and population served.
  • AI approach (model/type), data sources, and integration with workflows or EMRs.
  • Ethical safeguards: data governance, bias assessment, patient safety, and accountability.
  • Evidence of outcomes: clinical, operational, or financial, with metrics where possible.
  • Scalability: deployment status, interoperability, costs, and partnerships.

Shortlisted abstracts will be invited to submit a full chapter (2,500-3,000 words) covering objectives, methodology, governance frameworks, deployment challenges, and measurable impact.

Timeline

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 31 October 2025
  • Chapter Submission Deadline: 15 December 2025
  • Casebook Launch: India-AI Impact Summit 2026, 19-20 February 2026, New Delhi

Why this matters for healthcare leaders

  • See what works: concrete case studies with outcomes and implementation playbooks.
  • De-risk adoption: learn from governance models, safety checks, and equity safeguards.
  • Scale with confidence: deployment strategies you can adapt to your context and resources.

How submissions will be used

Selected contributions will be featured in the Casebook jointly developed by IndiaAI and WHO. The publication will present best practices, lessons learned, and deployment strategies to guide responsible and scalable AI adoption across the Global South.

How to apply

  • Prepare a 250-word abstract describing a real-world, implementable, and scalable AI health project.
  • Submit via the IndiaAI portal. See guidelines and forms here: IndiaAI.
  • For queries, email: fellow3.gpai-india@meity.gov.in with the subject line: "Call for Abstracts - Query - [Author Name]".
