The clinic was inaugurated online by the Additional Director General of Health Services under the Government of India. Built under the GIMS Centre for Medical Innovation, it connects doctors, patients, and startups inside a single, supervised clinical environment for solution development, testing, and validation.

GIMS Director Brigadier (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Gupta (Professor and Pediatrician) emphasized access and opportunity for healthcare startups so innovation reaches clinicians and patients directly. The Joint Secretary from the Department of Pharmaceuticals (Medical Devices) called the initiative a key national platform for medical devices and AI-led care.

More than 100 experts from India and abroad joined the inauguration, including clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and academicians. Participation by Dr. Sivakumar Manickam from the London Essex NHS Trust added international visibility.

With IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and IIIT Lucknow collaborating, the clinic will anchor education and research while supporting service delivery. Early focus areas include medical imaging, clinical decision support systems, and data-driven healthcare services.
