Informatica Boosts Snowflake Partnership with AI-Ready Data Innovations
Informatica has announced new product enhancements at Snowflake Summit that strengthen its collaboration with Snowflake. These updates focus on delivering trusted, AI-ready data through integrations with Snowflake’s Apache Polaris and Cortex AI platforms, enabling product development teams to build reliable enterprise AI applications.
New Cloud Application and Data Integration Features
- Apache Iceberg™ Open Table Connector for Snowflake: Informatica’s no-code/low-code pipelines now support loading data into Snowflake using the Iceberg table format, with automatic registration in Snowflake Apache Polaris. This facilitates seamless interoperability across Snowflake and other query engines. The feature is planned for release in July 2025.
- Expanded Cortex AI Connectivity: New connectors for Cortex AI, Cortex Search, Cortex Analyst, and Cortex Agents are now generally available globally, simplifying Generative AI (GenAI) application development with no-code tools in Snowflake Cortex AI.
Master Data Management Extension for Snowflake AI Data Cloud
Informatica has launched its Master Data Management (MDM) SaaS Extension for the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. This integration allows organizations to consolidate master and transactional data from multiple sources into Snowflake, making it easier to use trusted master data assets—such as customer, supplier, product, patient, and provider data—within analytics and AI use cases.
What This Means for Product Development
For product developers, these enhancements mean faster, more reliable access to high-quality data for AI projects. The no-code/low-code pipelines reduce the complexity of data integration, while the support for Apache Polaris ensures interoperability across different data engines. Additionally, the MDM extension offers a unified view of master data, improving data consistency and trustworthiness for AI models.
These capabilities allow teams to focus on building AI applications with confidence in the underlying data, accelerating time to market and reducing risks associated with data quality and integration.
