Infosys and OpenAI partner to scale AI-driven software development
Infosys and OpenAI are partnering to move enterprises beyond AI pilots into production deployments. The collaboration combines OpenAI's Codex with Infosys Topaz Fabric to accelerate software development, legacy modernization, and DevOps automation.
The partnership targets four areas: software engineering, legacy code modernization, DevOps automation, and e-commerce. Infosys contributes its poly-AI architecture, enterprise governance frameworks, and pre-built agents. The goal is to reduce time-to-market and boost engineering productivity.
Building on existing momentum
Infosys joins a broader Codex Labs initiative that already includes Accenture, Capgemini, CGI, Cognizant, PwC, and Tata Consultancy Services. Codex has built a substantial user base since its launch, and Infosys is now deepening its integration with the tool.
Denise Dresser, Chief Revenue Officer at OpenAI, said the partnership addresses practical enterprise needs: "Infosys's deep expertise in large-scale software transformation enables enterprises to deploy Codex across areas like legacy code modernization, code review automation, vulnerability detection, and application development."
From proof of concept to scale
Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, said the partnership provides an operational model for companies to move from pilots to measurable results. This shift from experimentation to deployment gives organizations a competitive advantage.
The collaboration focuses on redesigning development workflows, improving engineering execution, and deploying Codex in production environments globally. Organizations can use Codex for code review, vulnerability detection, and application development at scale.
