Johor inks AI design MoU with Alibaba-linked partners, sets up Centre of Excellence in Medini
The Johor state government is moving fast on AI talent. A new Memorandum of Understanding brings the Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC) together with Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB), the Singapore Economy and Management Institute, and Duiyo Pro-an Alibaba subsidiary focused on AI design-to deliver an AI Design Training Programme.
State Education and Information Committee chairman, Aznan Tamin, said the agreement reflects growing confidence from global players in Johor's talent pool and AI direction. He added that a JTDC working visit to Alibaba Headquarters in Hangzhou, including Alibaba Business School, helped align scope and standards for implementation.
