Kuadra, a MENA-based construction-tech company, is preparing to launch what it calls the industry's first unified AI platform for managing the entire project lifecycle of contracting companies. The platform targets Egypt's construction sector, one of the largest contributors to the country's GDP, which still relies heavily on manual processes for procurement and project management.
Automating the tender lifecycle
Ahmed Salem, Founder and CEO of Kuadra, said the new system will automate core procurement and project management functions. Contractors will be able to analyze tender documents, extract technical specifications, allocate work packages to suppliers and subcontractors, and evaluate bids-all within a single AI-powered environment.
"The platform is designed to shorten procurement cycles, improve efficiency, and support faster decision-making," Salem said. Currently, specialized teams spend days or weeks manually reviewing tenders that can run to hundreds of pages, a bottleneck that delays bid preparation and drives up operating costs. Kuadra's AI reduces that review to hours by generating structured executive summaries that capture material specifications, dimensions, brands, and country of origin.
Augmenting engineers, not replacing them
Salem emphasized that the technology is built to support technical staff rather than displace them. "The company's goal is to augment, rather than replace, engineers," he said. By embedding the expertise of seasoned professionals into AI-driven workflows, the platform helps younger engineers complete technical tasks faster and more accurately. This shift frees them to focus on engineering analysis, design, and innovation instead of repetitive administrative work.
Expansion and industry partnerships
Founded in 2025, Kuadra brings together a founding team with backgrounds in artificial intelligence, business development, and operations. The company plans to extend its technology into the oil and gas sector, where procurement and supply chain processes mirror those in construction. Kuadra is also in advanced discussions to form a strategic partnership with one of Egypt's five largest construction firms, a move that would significantly widen the platform's deployment.
The startup recently closed a funding round led by Edafa Venture following its participation in GITEX. Salem described the investor as a strategic partner that will support commercial growth and technology development, not just provide capital. Kuadra is also running training programs for engineering firms and professionals on effective AI tool use, aiming to lift productivity and engineering standards across the sector.
Why this matters for real estate and construction professionals
Kuadra's platform signals a practical shift toward AI adoption in one of the region's most document-heavy industries. For contractors and engineers, the immediate benefit is shorter procurement cycles and reduced manual review, which can lower costs and improve bid accuracy. As firms begin integrating these tools, professionals who build AI literacy will be better positioned to take on higher-value work. Specialized training resources, such as AI for Real Estate & Construction, can help teams get up to speed without disrupting existing workflows.
