Publishers Use AI to Decide What Gets Printed. Writers Need to Adapt

Publishers now use artificial intelligence to generate ideas, suggest titles, predict book sales and even determine what manuscripts make it to print. Some also use AI to detect whether submitted work was written by a machine. Yet most contractually prohibit authors from submitting AI-generated manuscripts.

The contradiction reveals how quickly AI has moved from novelty to operational tool across the publishing industry. For writers, the question is no longer whether AI exists - it's how to use it without becoming irrelevant.

AI Can Speed Research. It Cannot Replace Your Voice

AI generates articles in seconds and entire books in minutes. Musicians have released AI-generated hits that charted commercially. The efficiency is real.

But efficiency is not the same as authorship. AI cannot write from conviction. It cannot draw on lived experience or spiritual insight. It cannot hear God's voice.

The Work Itself Is the Point

The answer is yes. But only if writers do the work themselves.

The painful process of writing - finding the right sentence, the right word, the right lived example - is not an obstacle to eliminate. It's what makes writing matter. It's what gives it authority.
