LexisNexis and Harvey Form Strategic Alliance to Enhance Legal AI Solutions
LexisNexis Legal & Professional and Harvey have announced a strategic partnership to integrate LexisNexis’s generative AI technology and authoritative legal content directly into the Harvey platform. This collaboration will provide Harvey users with access to U.S. case law, statutes, and Shepard’s® Citations, along with AI-powered legal workflows developed jointly by both companies.
Harvey customers will now be able to leverage LexisNexis Protégé™ within the platform to ask complex legal questions in natural language. The system delivers comprehensive, citation-backed answers grounded in primary sources of law. These answers are validated through Shepard’s® Citations and enriched by LexisNexis’s proprietary knowledge graphs, ensuring high accuracy and reliability for legal research.
How the Integration Works
Users can refine queries with follow-up questions and continue their research seamlessly within Harvey. The AI models powering these features are fine-tuned by LexisNexis and operate on a proprietary infrastructure that anchors responses in legal content, metadata, and case law relationships. Shepard’s® Knowledge Graph and Point of Law Graph technologies underpin this approach, providing an enhanced layer of verification and context.
New AI-Powered Legal Workflows
Beyond search and research capabilities, LexisNexis and Harvey will co-develop advanced legal workflows that utilize generative AI. The initial workflows include:
- Motion to Dismiss Workflow: Automates the generation of high-quality Motion to Dismiss arguments and related client communications, supported by LexisNexis legal research content.
- Motion for Summary Judgment Workflow: Streamlines key drafting steps for Motions for Summary Judgment using authoritative legal content from LexisNexis.
This approach aims to accelerate routine legal drafting tasks while ensuring the output is grounded in trusted legal materials.
