LIPSTICK Launches Hybrid Studio Model with Local Representation in France

Date: 17/07/2025

Location: Paris, France

LIPSTICK, an innovative production studio founded by director Sebastian Strasser, introduces a hybrid studio model where direction, post-production, and AI-generated visuals operate seamlessly within one creative space. In partnership with Paris-based production company HENRY, LIPSTICK now represents its AI studio roster locally in France.

Bringing together traditional filmmaking skills, advanced VFX, and a growing community of AI-native artists, LIPSTICK creates a unified environment for creative and technical collaboration. While headquartered in Berlin, the studio’s recent partnership with HENRY marks its expansion into France, with plans to extend into the UK, the US, and the Middle East.

A New Production Environment

Originally developed to support Strasser’s large-scale commercial projects, LIPSTICK offers a production infrastructure that covers everything from concept development to final delivery. The studio’s work includes campaigns like Rhythm Of Life for Vodafone, one of the first brand films created entirely by AI artists, and Renault Revolution, a hybrid VFX campaign produced alongside HENRY.

Beyond Commercial Work

LIPSTICK’s influence extends beyond advertising. Its extended artist roster has contributed to projects in fashion, music, and culture, reflecting the studio’s diverse creative reach:

  • Alien Luv – a surreal short film for Daily Paper, directed by Folkert Verdoorn
  • Carhartt x Converse Cons – a visual tribute to skate culture by Natas3000
  • Is There a Thought You Would Like to Share – an experimental piece combining live-action and AI, directed by J.B Braud
  • Vogue Scans by Arthur Valverde
  • A teaser concept for The Weeknd’s São Paulo show by AI artist YZA Voku

Though not all these projects were produced by LIPSTICK, they represent the creative identities of artists collaborating with the studio.

Precision and Speed in AI Production

“We’re not building Go-Karts for TikTok clickbait. Our AI is more like a Formula One car – engineered for the speed, precision and competition of real advertising,” Sebastian Strasser explains. This focus ensures that AI tools serve professional, high-quality production needs rather than gimmicks.

Cultural Programming and Research

In addition to production, LIPSTICK operates a gallery and research space in Berlin Mitte. The current exhibition features the work of AI artist YZA Voku and marks the studio’s entry into cultural programming. Additional installations, short films, and long-form projects are in development for 2025.

Whether integrating AI directly into live shoots or developing end-to-end generative workflows, LIPSTICK offers directors and clients a flexible, precise studio environment that bridges traditional and AI-driven creative processes.
