Litera Adds Agentic AI "Lito" to Core Products at No Extra Cost - Built Into Where Lawyers Already Work

Litera is rolling out its legal AI agent, Lito, across its drafting products (Draft Base, Pro, Advanced) and Kira, with no additional fees for new or existing customers. That move puts advanced AI directly inside the tools used daily by tens of thousands of lawyers at more than 15,000 firms.

The takeaway: AI becomes a standard feature of the Litera stack, not an add-on. If your firm runs Word, Outlook, and Kira with Litera, you now have an AI assistant embedded in the workflow.

What Lito Does in Practice

Lito integrates into the AI-powered Litera One interface already used across Word, Outlook, and the web-so there's nothing new to install or learn. It comes with a baseline library of 11 legal AI skills and will continuously expand to cover Capital Markets, M&A, Business Development, Litigation, and Compliance.

It doesn't just answer prompts. Lito chains multiple skills into guided, step-by-step workflows, connecting drafting, review, and knowledge assets in one place. It integrates with Kira for due diligence and knowledge extraction, plus iManage and NetDocuments to bring firm content into each workflow.

Under the hood, Lito blends modern LLMs with Litera's decades of rules-based engines. That hybrid approach aims to deliver consistency and speed without forcing lawyers into a new interface or process.

Why This Matters for Your Practice

  • No extra licensing: Lito is included across Draft Base, Pro, Advanced, and Kira.
  • Zero disruption: Embedded where you already work in Microsoft 365 and Litera One.
  • Workflow-first: Predefined skills and chained tasks reduce prompt tinkering.
  • Knowledge-aware: Integrations with iManage, NetDocuments, and Kira bring firm content into drafting and review.
  • Scalable: Built for everything from BigLaw to boutiques and solo practices.

"Today marks a watershed moment for the legal profession. Tens of thousands of lawyers just gained technology that delivers 10x efficiency gains, directly in the tools where they do their work," said Litera CEO Avaneesh Marwaha. "Lito supercharges the Microsoft tools lawyers already use every day, delivering enterprise-grade AI automation with zero friction and zero learning curve."

Early users echoed the ease-of-use point. "The platform has a user-friendly interface and has simplified the need for prompt engineering through the use of pre-defined skills," said Joshua Tan, Partner at Delta Law Corporation. "The use of Lito shows significant promise for reducing the time required for menial tasks, particularly once users become more accustomed with the parameters of the platform."

Analyst view lines up with the workflow focus. "Embedding agentic AI directly within trusted tools closes the gap between innovation and adoption," said Ryan O'Leary, Research Director, Privacy and Legal Technology at IDC.

Where Lito Fits Day to Day

  • Drafting: Create and refine clauses, compare versions, and align documents to firm style in Word.
  • Review: Use Kira-backed skills to surface issues, summarize findings, and prep diligence outputs.
  • Knowledge: Pull relevant precedents from iManage/NetDocuments within the same workflow.
  • Collaboration: Work in Outlook and web with the same AI skills and context.

Market Context

The legal AI market was valued at an estimated USD $1.45B in 2024 and is projected to reach roughly $3.90B by 2030, according to Grand View Research. Litera's approach puts AI in the flow of work instead of adding yet another standalone tool-helpful for adoption, security, and measurable time savings.
