LSEG and OpenAI partner to deliver secure financial AI access

LSEG and OpenAI are teaming up to bring licensed market data into ChatGPT for financial institutions and enterprise users. The goal is simple: faster answers, deeper context, and cleaner workflows-without breaking entitlements or leaving approved environments. It's a direct fit with LSEG's "LSEG Everywhere" strategy to scale AI across finance.
LSEG will launch a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector so ChatGPT users with the right credentials can securely access LSEG content. Phase one lets users analyse LSEG's financial market data and news inside ChatGPT. Additional data categories and features will follow after the initial rollout.
How access will work
The MCP connector will begin with LSEG Financial Analytics and then expand in phases. Users will need valid LSEG credentials to access data within ChatGPT. LSEG expects the connector to go live the week of December 8, 2025.
OpenAI will provide secure enterprise access for financial professionals working with licensed data. LSEG is also rolling out ChatGPT Enterprise internally to about 4,000 employees to streamline routine tasks, improve productivity, and build internal AI capability.
