Uttar Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026: What Government Teams Need to Know
IndiaAI and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, will host the Uttar Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 in Lucknow on 12-13 January 2026. The event connects state-level work with the IndiaAI Mission and serves as a lead-up to the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi on 16-20 February 2026.

Pre-conference Working Group
On 12 January 2026, a hybrid meeting of the IndiaAI Working Group on "AI for Economic Growth and Social Good" will be held in Lucknow. Convened by MeitY, IndiaAI, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, this group brings together member countries, international organisations, policymakers, and experts to move forward on priority AI issues that call for cross-border collaboration.
Expected outcomes
- Inputs from the Working Group and conference sessions will feed into the national roadmap for the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
- Clearer direction on trustworthy AI practices for public good, with an emphasis on practical deployments across states.
- Stronger partnerships between government, industry, academia, and startups under the IndiaAI framework.
How government teams can prepare
- Identify 2-3 high-value use cases (e.g., disease surveillance, claims processing, beneficiary targeting) with clear metrics for success.
- Audit data readiness: sources, consent, anonymisation, quality checks, and access controls.
- Map proposed solutions to existing digital public infrastructure components and standards.
- Plan workforce enablement for clinicians, field staff, and administrators; define change management steps.
- Coordinate early with legal, security, and procurement teams on model risks, testing, and vendor evaluation.
