MarvelX Secures €5.4 Million to Launch AI Platform Transforming Insurance Operations
Amsterdam-based startup MarvelX, specializing in AI-driven solutions for the insurance industry, has closed a €5.4 million funding round. The round was led by EQT Ventures and included prominent angel investors such as Jobi George (Elastic, Microsoft), Keith Grose (Coinbase, Plaid), and others.
Alongside this funding, MarvelX unveiled ClaimOS MaX, an AI platform aimed at streamlining insurance workflows by replacing slow, manual processes with intelligent automation. The platform targets insurers seeking faster operations, improved accuracy, and greater flexibility.
Backing from Experienced Investors
MarvelX’s Founder and CEO, Ali el Hassouni, emphasized the strategic choice of EQT Ventures as a partner. EQT’s prior success in scaling companies within financial services and their commitment to long-term growth made them a preferred investor among over 150 inbound approaches.
Building the AI Backbone for Insurance
Founded in 2025, MarvelX focuses on creating an AI operational backbone to modernize insurance workflows. The company’s platform integrates with existing systems to centralize operational data and automate previously manual, fragmented tasks. This transformation supports faster decision-making, reduces errors, and enhances compliance.
El Hassouni brings strong expertise from his previous role as Head of Data & AI at the neobank bunq, where he developed a transaction monitoring system that outperformed most banking fraud detection methods by 2.5 times.
Addressing Industry Challenges with AI
Despite 85% of insurance executives recognizing generative AI as transformational, only 2% have adopted it at scale. MarvelX attributes this gap to legacy systems, internal complexity, and lack of specialized AI tools built for insurance.
Most insurance carriers still rely on disconnected systems and manual workflows, which slow operations and frustrate customers. MarvelX aims to resolve this by deploying AI agents purpose-built to optimize core workflows—starting with claims processing.
Core Features of ClaimOS MaX
- Application Assessment: Automates document verification and claims evaluation, reducing approval cycles from days to minutes.
- Fraud Detection: Uses real-time data analysis to spot suspicious patterns, lowering false positives and financial losses.
- Customer Communication: Delivers personalized updates and proactive notifications to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
By integrating MarvelX’s platform, insurers can lower operational costs, improve regulatory compliance, and provide a smoother customer experience.
Industry Support and Future Outlook
Tom Medoza, Partner at EQT Ventures, highlighted MarvelX’s combination of deep AI knowledge with practical insight into regulatory and data challenges faced by insurers and financial institutions. EQT is committed to supporting MarvelX as it advances its platform and expands its market presence.
