Meta Opens Ad Campaign Management to External AI Tools
Meta has launched Ads AI Connectors in open beta, allowing advertisers to manage campaigns through their own AI tools without writing code or managing API credentials. The connectors create a direct link between ad accounts and external AI agents, eliminating the need for developer involvement.
The system uses Meta's ads model context protocol (MCP) server and a command line interface. Setup takes minutes and requires no backend development work.
What advertisers can do
The connectors give AI agents access to real campaign performance data. Advertisers can:
- Create and edit campaigns using natural language prompts
- Generate detailed performance reports
- Manage product catalogs and troubleshoot feed issues
- Run signal diagnostics to evaluate data quality
- Access audience insights
Outputs are based on actual campaign data, not generic recommendations. The connectors work within advertisers' existing tools rather than forcing them into Meta's Ads Manager interface.
How it fits with existing tools
Meta already offers an AI business assistant within Ads Manager that handles in-platform guidance and recommendations. The new connectors extend those capabilities to external AI tools, enabling cross-channel insights and custom workflows.
The move reflects a broader shift in how advertisers interact with Meta's systems. The company said the connectors represent "the next step in our partnership with advertisers and agencies, meeting you in the tools you already use."
Who benefits
Advertisers and agencies gain the most from this setup. Teams can work in familiar environments without learning new interfaces or hiring developers to build custom integrations. The secure, authenticated connection means agencies can manage multiple client accounts without exposing credentials.
