Metron Secures $48.6M Contract to Boost AI-Driven Mission Planning for the Army
RESTON, Va., Aug. 26, 2025 – Metron Inc., known for its expertise in autonomous mission planning and decision science, has been awarded a $48.6 million contract by the U.S. Army. The contract focuses on developing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) tools to support expeditionary maneuver and air/ground reconnaissance missions.
This contract expands on Metron's track record of delivering AI-based mission planning solutions that help commanders make quick, informed decisions in contested environments. The software will enable complex mission planning even when conditions are uncertain or continuously changing.
Faster, More Adaptive Mission Planning
Metron’s new operational software aims to significantly reduce the time needed for mission planning while increasing the flexibility of expeditionary forces. It will support joint and multi-domain operations by addressing real-world challenges commanders face on the battlefield.
