Mills & Reeve Names Iain Murdoch as Head of Legal AI

Mills & Reeve, a leading UK law firm, has appointed Iain Murdoch to the newly created position of Head of Legal AI. This move is part of the firm’s 2030 growth strategy, focusing on improving service delivery and operational efficiency through legal AI technologies.
Iain joined Mills & Reeve in 2022 as a construction lawyer. With over 25 years of experience in construction and engineering law, he also brings a strong background in applied artificial intelligence and legal know-how. Before joining the firm, Iain led legal content at the legal tech start-up ThoughtRiver.

In his new role, Iain will lead the firm’s efforts to integrate AI into legal services, helping to shape how Mills & Reeve operates and serves clients by 2030. He will be based in the Birmingham office but will have a nationwide scope, including offices in Manchester, Leeds, London, Cambridge, Norwich, and Oxford.
