Creative Economy Minister Calls for Collaboration to Boost AI Adoption

Jakarta – The Creative Economy Minister, Teuku Riefky Harsya, has emphasized the need for joint efforts to support creative economy players, especially those outside major cities, in adopting artificial intelligence (AI) to add value to their work.

During a meeting with Commission VII of the House of Representatives in Jakarta, Harsya highlighted that AI's progress is unstoppable. Instead of resisting, creative professionals can leverage AI to enhance their outputs and create new opportunities.

Supporting Regional Creative Economy Players

The ministry is focused on developing the creative economy in regional areas, which contribute significantly to state revenue. However, this sector faces stiff competition from foreign products and technological challenges.

To address these issues, a dedicated Directorate of New Digital Technology has been established. This directorate aims to help creative economy players adapt and thrive in the digital era.

Establishment of Creative Economy Agencies

The ministry plans to use its budget to set up creative economy agencies in various regions. These agencies will act as hubs where creative professionals can find support and access development funding from the central government.

Funding will include grants and will be coordinated with the ministry’s technology directorate. Multi-party collaboration is expected to play a key role in this initiative.

Prioritizing AI Training and Budget Expansion

AI training for creative economy players is a priority and will be coordinated with other ministries such as the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs. This training aims to equip creatives with practical AI skills.

The ministry has proposed increasing its budget from Rp428.47 billion to Rp2.3 trillion (approximately US$141.5 million) to empower the sector in facing digital challenges.

For creatives looking to deepen their AI skills, Complete AI Training offers a wide range of courses designed to help you integrate AI into your workflow effectively.
