Monday's new AI Agents: What Managers Need to Know

Monday is launching an AI agent builder that goes beyond chat. These agents "execute tasks, connect systems, and learn from context," said Daniel Lereya, chief product and technology officer at Monday. The goal: free teams from repeatable work so they can focus on creativity, strategy, and judgment.

The agents act across channels and teams. They can work through email, SMS, and even make phone calls, then write results back to Monday boards and connected apps.

How it works

Managers create custom agents with natural language prompts. The builder shows the agent's logic: purpose, capabilities, and conversational style. You can tweak the script, voice, and speech speed before you set it loose.

Example: an RSVP phone agent can call invitees, confirm attendance, capture guest counts, and update a Monday board automatically. Another: a service agent that answers customer questions using your knowledge base. Monday will also offer prebuilt agents, including a digital sales development agent that qualifies leads, books meetings, and keeps CRM data accurate.

Where this helps your team

  • Event ops: Automate RSVP calls and follow-ups; keep headcount and preferences synced to a board.
  • Sales ops: Qualify inbound, schedule meetings, and reduce CRM cleanup.
  • Support: Deflect routine questions using your knowledge base; escalate edge cases to humans.
  • Cross-team workflows: Trigger actions across tools via integrations and keep data consistent.

Pricing and availability

General availability is expected in October. Access uses a monthly fee with a pool of credits that deplete based on agent activity. Full pricing details aren't public yet, so plan for usage monitoring and budget caps.

Accuracy, oversight, and risk

Monday's agents use multiple AI models, including speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and text generation from vendors such as OpenAI and Anthropic. Monday says it applies prompt and context techniques, plus grounding strategies, to reduce hallucinations and continuously evaluates quality.

Agents operate within guardrails. Humans can review, monitor, or intervene before critical actions. For managers, that means clear approval steps, audit trails, and defined data permissions should be part of your rollout plan.

Quick implementation playbook

  • Start with 1-2 high-volume, low-risk use cases (e.g., RSVP calls, lead qualification).
  • Define KPIs upfront: time saved, response rate, meeting-booked rate, data accuracy.
  • Pilot a prebuilt agent first; then customize scripts and escalation paths.
  • Set approval rules for sensitive actions (CRM updates, outbound calls, customer credits).
  • Connect the right systems: calendars, CRM, knowledge base, email/SMS providers.
  • Train your team on scripts, exceptions, and when to hand off to a human.
  • Track spend by credits; cap usage and review transcripts and logs weekly.
  • If metrics improve, expand to adjacent workflows; if they don't, refine prompts and data sources.

Ecosystem updates

Monday is rolling out multiple AI pieces across its platform. Sidekick, a chatbot assistant, is now generally available. AI Blocks automate single tasks like call transcription, while Agents coordinate those Blocks into autonomous teammates. The Marketplace will list third-party agents and skills you can add. Monday also introduced Campaigns, an email marketing feature in its CRM that can generate copy and suggest audience segments; it's available now.

Bottom line for managers

If your team spends hours on outreach, data entry, or first-response support, Monday's agents can reduce manual work and keep systems in sync. Start small, keep humans in the loop, measure results, and scale what works.
